Well-known artist S. D. Phadnis, born in 1925, completed his study in art education at Sir J. J. School of Art, Mumbai. His hobby of cartooning later turned into his career. Most of his cartoons are stylized humorous paintings. They are almost caption less and transcend the barriers of language, region or class. His exhibitions and slideshows were presented in many cities of India, USA and UK.
