Liquitex Professional Gloss Varnish is the perfect solution for artists looking to seal their acrylic artwork with a transparent, glossy layer. This high-quality varnish not only enhances the visual appeal of artwork but also provides long-lasting protection against environmental damage.

  • 100% acrylic polymer varnish adds a gloss sheen, protects and resists dirt retention
  • Increases brightness and colour saturation and dries clear to a flexible, non-tacky, hard surface
  • Improves surface durability - ideal when shipping or exhibiting
  • Resists discoloration - yellowing and fogging - caused by humidity, heat and UV
  • Semi-opaque when wet, transparent when dry
  • Available in 5 Sizes – 118 ml, 237 ml, 473 ml, 946 ml and 3.78 L Jar & 400 ml Spray

How to Use –

Preparation –

  • Ensure your painting and surface are fully dry before applying varnish. This could take anywhere from 72 hours to two weeks, depending on the thickness of the paint.
  • Work in a well-ventilated, dust-free environment to prevent particles from settling on your wet varnish.
  • Conduct a patch test on a small area to ensure compatibility and desired effect.

Application -

  • Gently stir the varnish before use to mix it evenly. Do not thin with water, shake, or over-brush vigorously, as this can create bubbles and a foggy appearance.
  • Using a clean, soft brush, apply the varnish in long, even strokes. Start at the top and work your way down, moving from one side to the other. Avoid going over areas you've missed; instead, allow the first coat to dry and then reapply.
  • Apply up to three thin coats, allowing at least three hours of drying time between each coat. This layered approach ensures a smooth, even finish without streaks or cloudiness.
  • Do not use a roller or sponge brush for application, as these tools can cause uneven coverage and bubbles.

Final Touches -

  • Once the final coat is applied, allow the varnish to cure completely. This ensures the maximum level of protection and glossiness.
  • Do not attempt to remove or touch up the varnish once it has started drying, as this can lead to a cloudy finish.

The Galeria Acrylics line consists of 60 magnificent colors in 60ml tubes and 500ml Jars making it ideal for art & design students, hobbyists, muralists, decorative painters and fine artists who work on a grand scale.

Although Galeria Acrylics are sometimes referred to as a fine grade acrylic, their high pigment levels deliver professional results with significantly better covering power than many similarly priced brands
