Liquitex Professional Light Modeling Paste is a specially formulated, lightweight, and airy blend of marble dust and polymer emulsion. This versatile medium is designed for applications where minimizing weight is crucial, making it perfect for large-scale works or projects where you need to reduce the overall weight. It dries to a hard, opaque white matte finish and can be mixed with acrylic colour or painted over once dry..

  • 100% acrylic polymer and marble dust lightweight putty builds form and structure
  • Dries to a hard, opaque white matte finish. Gives minimal shrinkage.
  • Can be used on its own, mixed with colour or painted once dry
  • Can be used to add body to paint and create pastel tints
  • Can be overpainted with acrylics, oils, watercolours, graphite or dry pastels
  • Available in 3 Sizes – 237 ml, 473 ml and 946 ml

How to Use –

  • Handling and Preparation - Remove the lid and allow some water to evaporate for a thicker, more workable texture if desired. Use a palette knife, trowel, or brush to apply the paste.
  • Building Sculptural Textures - Apply in thin layers, each no more than a quarter of an inch thick, allowing each layer to dry completely before adding the next. This method helps prevent shrinkage cracks. For best results, cover loosely with plastic wrap while drying to ensure slow drying and minimize cracking.
  • As a Ground - Apply a thin layer to a rigid surface with a knife, trowel, or roller. Once dry, sand smooth and repeat if necessary to achieve the desired texture. To create an absorbent ground, mix one part Modelling Paste with three parts Liquitex Gesso, apply with a trowel or roller, let it dry, sand smooth, and repeat as needed.
  • Mixing and Tinting - Mix with acrylic colours to create tinted modelling paste for specific colour effects. Once dry, the surface can be painted over with various mediums including acrylics, oils, watercolours, graphite, or pastels.
  • Creative Applications - Excellent for creating sculptural elements and textured surfaces in mixed media art. Can be used for paper-mache projects by soaking paper in a 50/50 mixture of Modelling Paste and Liquitex Gloss Gel, Matte Gel, or Gloss Heavy Gel.

The Galeria Acrylics line consists of 60 magnificent colors in 60ml tubes and 500ml Jars making it ideal for art & design students, hobbyists, muralists, decorative painters and fine artists who work on a grand scale.

Although Galeria Acrylics are sometimes referred to as a fine grade acrylic, their high pigment levels deliver professional results with significantly better covering power than many similarly priced brands
