Liquitex Satin Medium gives acrylic paint a satin sheen finish, while increasing colour saturation and brightness. Use it to lower the viscosity of heavier body paint and increase its flow, or to extend the volume of more fluid paint without affecting acrylic stability. The more you add, the thinner and more transparent colour will be, so mix in until you achieve the viscosity and translucency you want. For collaging use it direct from the bottle as a lightweight glue. Or try it diluted in an atomizer to fix pastels or chalks.

  • Gives colour a satin finish and increases colour depth & transparency
  • Lowers viscosity of heavier body paints, giving increased flow. Extends your colour further without affecting acrylic stability
  • Maintains paint adhesion, durability and archival quality. Use as a non-removable varnish to protect paintings and establish a satin surface sheen
  • Ideal to use as a glue when collaging with lightweight materials
  • Transfers printed images

How to Use –

  • Mix as much as you like into acrylic colour to create the viscosity and transparency you want - the more you add, the thinner and more transparent your colour will become. If bubbles appear when stirring, leave to sit while they rise and disappear
  • Can be thinned by diluting with up to 25% water - distilled water will give best results
  • This is semi-opaque when wet, transparent when dry
  • To fix pastel, graphite or chalk, mix 1 part medium to 1 part distilled water and apply with an atomizer or airbrush
  • Apply with a brush/sponge as a lightweight collaging glue

The Galeria Acrylics line consists of 60 magnificent colors in 60ml tubes and 500ml Jars making it ideal for art & design students, hobbyists, muralists, decorative painters and fine artists who work on a grand scale.

Although Galeria Acrylics are sometimes referred to as a fine grade acrylic, their high pigment levels deliver professional results with significantly better covering power than many similarly priced brands
