Liquitex Slow Dri-Blending Medium an essential medium for creating softer edges and modelled forms. This medium is used to extend the “open” time of acrylics by more than 40%, giving you an opportunity to really work the paint to enhance colour blending. You can add up to 50% of this medium, as it contains binder to retain the integrity of the paint film, unlike the additive’s version.
- Extends the open time of your colour/medium by 40% so it is blendable and workable for longer
- Extends colour further without affecting acrylic stability
- Gives softer edges and great colour blends. Increases transparency
- Lowers viscosity of heavier body paints, giving increased flow
- Increases surface gloss, colour depth and transparency
How to Use –
- Mix as much as you like into acrylic colour/medium to create the viscosity and transparency you want - the more you add, the thinner and more transparent colour will become
- Can be thinned by diluting with up to 25% water - distilled water will give best results
- Stir gently to avoid creating foam - if bubbles appear, leave it to sit while the bubbles rise and disappear
- If you're working over a long period of time, mix into colour on the palette to keep it fresh and skin-free for longer
- This is semi-opaque when wet, transparent when dry
